Insurance and Payment Options
Insurance
Temporomandibular dysfunction and sleep-disordered breathing are medical conditions and, therefore, billed to medical insurance. We are not in-network with any medical insurance plans, meaning that we do not accept medical insurance. However, as a courtesy, we can often assist you in billing your medical plan for any possible reimbursement from them to you.
Payment Options
- Cash or Check: Always accepted.
- Credit Card: Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express.
- CareCredit: Apply online (www.carecredit.com) or in our office.
Financing FAQs
Will My Insurance Pay for This?
Historically, medical insurance has excluded or limited non-surgical TMJ/Pain treatment coverage. It has also limited patients’ access to specific appliances for Obstructive Sleep Apnea.
Great news: your care at our office is not limited because we do not contract with insurance companies. You and the provider get to determine what is best for you versus the insurance company directing your care.
Ultimately, we do not accept insurance because we care about you too much. If we did, our practice would not exist to serve the thousands of patients we have treated.
So, why do you not work with insurance?
Our providers are Fee for Service/Out of Network by necessity. The short answer is that we cannot deliver the quality of care you deserve with the constraints that insurance companies force upon the doctor and patient. The limitations they place make it impossible to deliver the services we provide. This is precisely why the major medical establishments locally do not participate in the care of these issues, as they cannot get reasonably reimbursed for it to be practical.
Can you help me send a claim to my medical insurance?
In many cases, yes! With the exception of Medicare or Tricare, we can submit a claim to most medical plans on your behalf. The insurance company can then reimburse you directly if their processing of the claim results in a payment.
